Billie Eilish is opening up about why she stopped signing autographs. The five-time Grammy Award winner has a special connection with her millions of followers. Keep reading as Eilish reveals the truth behind her refusal to give away her signature!
A fan posted a video of Billie Eilish after she was interviewed at the Jimmy Kimmel Live! Show. In the footage, you can see a group of people waiting outside in a “meet and greet” after her performance, but they booed her because Billie declined to sign autographs.
It’s really shocking to notice some of the fans even insulted the star, calling her “little b*tch!”
So Eilish decided to clarify the real reason for her denial. The “Bad Guy’ singer explained that if you watch that video you could get the wrong impression and she almost looks like a diva walking away and completely ignoring her fans.
According to Billie, this was not what really happened. There were a bunch of paparazzi and two groups of people: her real fans, and another group that the musician recognized to be "eBayers".
In fact, she's more than happy to chat with her fans and even let them take selfies, but she doesn't sign autographs because she believes that unfortunately, they end up being sold online.
“I didn’t sign anything. It’s something that I don’t do because I used to, but I realized all anyone did was sell everything that I signed, so I stopped doing that. I’d rather get a hug and talk to you … than f*cking sign something so you can sell that sh*t.”
We should remember that celebrities are real people too. They are not under any obligation to sign autographs. They suffer a lot of stress, always being chased by paparazzi that dig into their private life.
Eilish’s decision deserves respect because she just wants to make her real fans happy by giving them personal attention. If you only want to get Billie’s autograph to make some money then don’t be surprised if you leave empty-handed!
