Blackpink is the biggest female South Korean group. The four members, Jennie, Rose, Jisoo, and Lisa are all in their mid 20s. Their recent song, 'Lovesick Girls' was released in October 2020. But, YG has revealed a new version of Blackpink's music video. Read below to find out the reason!
Blackpink's 'Lovesick Girls' original music video was viewed more than 61 million times in just 24 hours on YouTube. The version had to be taken down because of a controversy started by the 'Health and Medical Workers' Union of Korea. They objected to the stunning rapper, Jennie's look as a nurse.
She was wearing the outfit during the second verse of the hip-hop song, "No doctor could help me when I'm lovesick". The union considered it as an objectification to their profession. Blackpink girls never intended to hurt the people around them.
It's wonderful that the girl band and their team unveiled the new video of their song to honor the Korean health workers. They have once again won millions of hearts of their admirers.
The K-pop group re-edited the music video and replaced Jennie's part with a different look. She is now wearing a classy beige sweater with matching boots, in the updated version. Jennie and her South Korean group also apologized to all the healthcare workers who work hard everyday for their communities.
Blinks love how the Blackpink girls are so humble and down to earth. They never fail to impress their fans with their powerful vocals and amazing personalities.
