Unlike the millions of happy and healthy vegans, Miley Cyrus just couldn't handle it! Despite adopting the lifestyle for over half a decade, she eventually had to give up due to her health. The singer claims that being vegan affected her brain productivity.
'I was vegan for a very long time, and I’ve had to introduce fish and omegas into my life because my brain wasn’t functioning properly. Now I’m so much sharper than I was, and I think that I was, at one point, pretty malnutritioned.'
Not only was the diet mentally taxing, but it took a toll on her physical health as well. Veganism gave Miley Cyrus body and hip pains that forced her to adopt the pescatarian life. This is a huge personality switch for the 'Wrecking Ball' singer who once posted a tweet saying:
'If you choose to eat meat …. You love PETS not ANIMALS.'
It's safe to say Miley received incredible backlash for this controversial statement. Some people spoke up in support, but most in discouragement (rightfully so!). 'I think life’s about trial and error and finding out what works for you. I think when you become the face of something, it’s just a lot of pressure. If I could learn to operate at 110 percent living a vegan lifestyle that would be ideal … I just didn’t get there.'
We're so happy to see that Miley chose her health and wellbeing over anything else!
