BTS is making their way into the hearts of the people with their music. The K-pop sensation is releasing new albums, receiving awards, well general keeping their fans happy. However, it seems like not all of them share the same emotions. The boys are under the fire for making some comments about the Korean War and their Chinese fans are not happy. The band recently accepted an award from The Korea Society, to commemorate the US-Korean relationship. Woo-hoo! Cheers to the days of peace between the nations. As the Army was celebrating the milestone, a few of them were disheartened by a band member’s remarks during their acceptance speech.
RM took the opportunity to pay tribute to the ones who lost their lives due to conflicts between countries. He also thanked the US for their support during those trying times.
Many would see his words as a token of appreciation, however, fans from China misunderstood his stance. They believe that the singer indirectly insulted them, as their country supported the opposition during the conflict.
Now, when you associate yourself with the ‘Army’, you know that they are a bunch of dedicated people. From knowing their idol’s favorite color to what opinions they hold about the societal issues, fans of BTS know that the boys would never say anything to hurt anyone.
BTS’s anti-violence campaign, Love Myself is an example of what the boys stand for. Their collaboration with UNICEF shows that they are dedicated to the cause and would never discriminate against anyone.
The misunderstanding that has risen from RM speech needs to be acknowledged soon. The longer it stays, the more divided would their fans be.
