Although a vast number of top-class actors are worldwide known for their utterly convincing performances when they get to embody soldiers on screen, only a handful have experienced the crude and harsh truth of being in the battlefield. Watch the pictures below to find out who are the brave ones!
5) Jimi Hendrix
Despite exhibiting an outstanding natural ability to deliver exemplary performances during recitals, the Seattle-born guitarist and composer was unfortunately not that gifted for aiming and shooting purposes. After suffering a terrible knee injury, he was eventually discharged from service after the thirteenth month of instruction.
4) Arnold Schwarzenegger
The globally famous bodybuilder was so obsessed with his fitness levels that he was sent to military jail! The reason?
While he was serving in the Austrian Army, he imprudently barged into neighboring Germany in order to engage in a bodybuilding tournament! That's 72 hours behind bars for him.
3) Morgan Freeman
Heavily inspired by a wide range of warlike movies seen during childhood, Freeman enthusiastically joined the USAF in 1955, serving as a fighter pilot. Nevertheless, after 520 days of honorable service, he finally decided to depart from the Army.
“It took me a year and a half to get disabused of my romantic notions about it”
2) Chuck Norris
The prestigious American actor is surely worthy of his terrifying reputation. Not only has he thrive in an endless amount of mixed martial arts contests, but he was also part of the USAF from 1958 to 1962, where he achieved mastery level in Taekwondo (which would later be of utmost relevance in his exceptional Hollywood career).
1) Clint Eastwood
It goes without saying everyone expects such an extremely tenacious figure as Clint Eastwood to have served in the military at some point in his life; and of course, he has definitely lived up to the hype! Even though he wasn't involved in direct combat, he virtuously served as a lifeguard during the devastating Korean War.
