Britney Spears have always known how to call attention right on her. When dating Justin Timberlake they attended the 2001 American Music Awards edition together wearing the iconic denim gowns which became epic! Scroll down to learn everything!
The annual music show award was created in 1973 by Dick Clark. Before 2006, only music experts could choose the nominees and the winners thanks to the charts, sales, views and other kind of lists. However, since 2006, people and fans vote for their nominees and winners on the AMAs official website. So, now, we can assure the winners are the ones of the people, those whom their fans want to win, are the final champions.
When we think of iconic people at the AMAs ever, we can't avoid thinking about Britney Spears. The Pop Princess made her appearance on that award season with her then-boyfriend, former N'SYNC singer, Justin Timberlake. The hit maker was the host on that occasion with LL Cool J. The moment the happy couple appeared on the red carpet all flashes turned to them.
The were both dressed head to toe in denim. Perfect denim, even Britney's purse was made of denim. It was actually epic. The two lovebirds were Hollywood's loving couple, they were young and prosperous. Absolutely everybody was looking at them, and their appearance on the red carpet made the most of it. They were just perfect in denim.
On the 2014 AMAs edition, Katy Perry and rapper Riff Raff, showed up wearing exactly the same 'gown' Britney and her then-boyfriend. The brunette posted on Twitter she did it simply because she felt nostalgia, and she was a big fan of 'Oops I did it again'. The blond's answer was a conclusive thumbs up! Although fashion designers recommended to never ever go back to the early 2000s trends, everybody agreed it was a good reminder of iconic a dress code can be.
Will any other couple appear on the next AMAs edition as matchy as Britney and Justin were? I can't recall any other opportunity when stars did that, but, who knows? Stars prepare for this event for a very long time, hence, we must be ready for anything!
