The live-streaming concert was a benefit for the World Health Organization (WHO). The world changed during 2020 and Post Malone decided to help the globe the way in which he could: performing. Most people didn't have such a great year simply because they couldn't go out from their homes. The lockdown was super necessary.
The American rapper wanted to change things and to make them way better! Nirvana's tribute was going to be quite a show.
'Everyone knows I can't sing for s***, but I'm trying to sing my heart out for y'all tonight'
The 'Circles' singer arranged everything at home to make it look just like a concert in a studio. During the hour and 20 minute Nirvana show, a stocked bar served as a great backdrop. Malone dressed up with a Mark Cobain's costume. Although the track list was quite complete, 'Smells like teen spirit' was missing. Of course, fans realized. It was weird at first not to include the hit in the 15 song Posty sang, but then we learned the reason. He didn't dare to sing his fans hit. Austin thought it was too much!
The rapper sang and played the guitar in almost all the songs. Travis Barker, from Blink 182 backed the singer on the drums! The show was incredible! It was so amazing actually that it had 14 million YouTube views! That was not it.
Krist Novoselic, Nirvana's bassist, approved the performance and Courtney Love, commented in the session. Cobain's widow enjoyed the show and found it very interesting actually! Once more, thanks Post for sharing your music with all of us. It really made things a bit better. Most shows were cancelled during 2020, but your performance was so outstanding and professional it really looked like a real concert! In the meantime, watch the YouTube video of the tribute!
