Justin Bieber's friend managed to break one of the records most artists can't even dream of! In 2018 The 'Circles' singer broke one of the records The Beatles held for 54. Want to know everything about the young rapper? Scroll down and don't miss a thing!
Austin Richard Post, AKA Post Malone, started off his career in 2015 with his first hit 'White Iversion'. He was just 20 years back then. Posty was getting what he had worked so much for: fame. The marvelous songwriter has a potential without precedents. He writes his own songs and creates music which has rhythm people need to continue listening.
Streaming became a necessity when listening to the young Syracuse rapper. Having friends like Justin Bieber also helped, of course! The Canadian has promoted his friend/brother on countless occasions. Many people got to know him thanks to the 'Yummy' singer. All of those people became the 25-year-old singer's followers.
2018 was a great year for Malone. Beerbongs and Bentleys is Austin's second studio album. Believe it or not, it crushed almost every record in just two weeks since its release. By May 2018 the album had achieved the most single-album sales and the highest number of streams in a week. Again, it was only May, the rest of the year was still ahead!
Post Malone also had 9 songs in the Top 20 at the same time! Incredible! The young artist couldn't believe it himself! Among the records, we should include one held by the iconic boys band 'The Beatles' and J. Cole. All they had 6 songs on the Top 20 at the same time.
Billboard explained what happened by posting the following: 'As Post Malone celebrates his first No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart (dated May 12) as well as the biggest streaming week ever for an album, the rapper/singer concurrently breaks the record for the most simultaneous top 20 entries on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart' and continued 'The Beatles held the record for 54 years, as they charted six songs in the top 20 on charts dated April 11 and April 18, 1964. J. Cole tied the mark just last week (on the chart dated May 5), fueled by the No. 1 Billboard 200 bow of his latest album, KOD.'
Now, stop everything and let's analyze it a bit more. 22-year-old Post Malone broke a record held by 'The Beatles'. Yes, 'The Beatles'! Nobody in the music industry could believe what was happening. The rapper was simply as amazing as his friend JB said!
Congratulations Post Malone! In 2020 the songwriter had hoped to drop his new album. That could not happen because of the lockdown and the world's health condition. Let's just wait a bit more and surely the star will release some of his new magic in a new music album in 2021! We promise you Austin we'll be there for you helping you break even more records!
