Columbia Records has successfully snatched up Miley Cyrus! It's not too big of a change since both Columbia and the singer's previous label, RCA Records are owned by the same parent company, Sony. How will this new chapter affect her career! Read more below!
On March 5th, 2021, Columbia Records posted a picture on Instagram, breaking the news of the new addition to their team. The image shows a bare-faced Cyrus, holding up a document with the word 'Columbia' as the heading. It didn't take fans long to put two and two together. A caption saying 'LET'S RIDE' was written, accompanying the photo.
Fans of the 28-year-old recognized the ignorance their idol was facing before, during, and after the production of her most recent album- Plastic Hearts. Despite it being an influential album for her and her fandom, supporters believe it could've been better received had it been promoted well.
Instagram user miley.clip commented on Columbia Records' photo of Miley, saying:
"Legend, deserves so much more recognition, sadly RCA gave no promo to Plastic Hearts aka her best album ever. Hope she will get more success on this label"
We totally agree! Hopefully this new chapter in her life will boost Miley's career even more. With or without the change in label, true fans (like me!) will continue to support and listen to our queen!
Most of us have grown up listening to her as Hannah, and now are enjoying her sound as Miley. Do you think changing her record label was a good decision? Let us know your opinion in the comments below!
