When he was 3 years old, his father went to prison and all the challenges began. He was raised by his mother, with whom they had to sleep some times in the car while she looked for jobs.
His grandparents some times gave shelter to them in those difficult moments for the family. Kane went to several schools because of this, one of them was Lake view — Fort Oglethorpe High School where he sang in the choir with Lauren Alaina, an American Idol participant.
During his childhood, the artist received some bad comments from his classmates because of his skin color, and then he discovered he was biracial. “I thought I was full white, and honestly, I can’t even say because I didn’t see colors,” he explained in an interview.
His musical path
Brown grew up listening to music, specially country music, but he became also interested in R&B in middle school. He began to perform country music after winning a school talent-show in 11th grade. He was so young!
In 2013, he was chosen for The X Factor, but he left the show because producers wanted him to be part of a boy band, and he didn't.
After that in 2014 he posted his musical covers in Facebook and story began. On September 2015, his cover of George Strait's 'Check Yes or No' went extremely viral and received more than 7 million views, giving him more followers. That's awesome!
Also in that year, his first EP, titled Closer, was released and it debuted on the Top Country Albums chart at number 22. There were 3,200 copies sold in its debut week.
In 2016, Kane signed with Sony Music Nashville and started recording under the RCA Nashville label. Since then, he has been releasing new singles, and albums with them. The musician also made some collaborations with artists like Becky G, and Camila Cabello. Did you hear them?
This year he released On August 14, his third EP, Mixtape, Vol. 1, which includes songs like 'Cool Again', 'Worldwide Beautiful' and 'Be Like That', as well as four other tracks that took the fans' hearts.
Brown has also been performing in many shows this year like The Late Late Show with James Corden and other places such as the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.
We think that this 27-year-old star is becoming one of the breakthrough young acts in country music with all the stuff he is launching and because how he shares the love for music.
