Billie Eilish and Khalid’s music video “lovely” reached 1 billion views on YouTube. In the clip, we can see the pair of young singers wearing black outfits and silver chain jewelry. They are inside a glass box and it rains from a cloud on top, becoming cold and frosty.
Can you believe that Billie was only 16 and she created the dark and dramatic visual concept for the video because she was feeling trapped in a hopeless relationship? Khalid's melancholic voice echoing Eilish's vocals and the lyrics are incredibly moving.
"Isn't it lovely, all alone? Heart made of glass, my mind of stone. Tear me to pieces, skin to bone. Hello, welcome home."
The song "lovely" was featured on the soundtrack for the second season of Netflix's hit “13 Reasons Why.” Selena Gomez was an executive producer of the series.
This marks Eilish's second billion ranking entry after the music video for "Bad Guy," the singer’s Billboard Hot 100 No.1 and also Grammy Award winner, reached the 1 billion viewers mark in November 2020.
Khalid and Eilish are close friends and when “Bad Guy” smashed the records the pop superstar wrote at the time on his Instagram Story:
"AYYYEEEEE BAD GUY HIT A BILLI."
