What is the novel Mickey 7 about?

The novel has not been officially published, but it is known to be about a human named Mickey who is part of a dangerous expedition to colonize an ice world called Niflheim. After a suicide mission, Mickey dies and a clone named Mickey 8 is regenerated with the ability to keep his memories intact. The truth is that he was not dead and returns to prevent the clone from taking his place.

Apparently the science fiction novel will be full of drama and a lot of tension around its protagonist. We still don't know if Bonk Joon-Ho's adaptation will be faithful to the novel or if it will add more action to it, but we must be patient until we have more data.
