Easy 5 minute yoga to help you get through quarantine

Whether you're working from home or you've already gotten back to regular office hours, sitting in front of a computer can be detrimental not only to your posture but to your mental health as well. Many gyms are still closed due to recent outbreaks and you're probably feeling the need to get your blood flowing.  That's why this short routine is perfect! Yoga is proven to help boost your energy and reduce stress. Research shows that yoga breathing, called pranayama, that slow steady breathing can improve cognitive function. Further research shows regular yoga practice can reduce depression and anxiety.

Yoga is an excellent way to start your day full of energy
  1. Starfish pose. It helps open up lungs, chest, back and torso.
  2. Cat-cow pose. It improves mobility and helps with back pain. Inhale as you open up and exhale as you round your back.
  3. Twists. They allow oxygyn to your internal organs which help improve digestion and stimulate blood circulation.
  4. Seated forward fold with wide legs and clasped hands behind your back. It helps improve your posture and lung capacity.
  5. Standing side stretch. It improves flexibility and gets you fired up for your day!
