Cleaning is necessary, whether it's the entire house, your bathroom or just your microwave. Clean surfaces avoid germs and contribute to a healthy environment. Marjorie Harvey, founder and director of Australian Food Hygiene Services says cleaning your microwave is especially important because we will be eating whatever comes out of it, and usually while heating food splatters may occur. Those food residues could eventually fall onto our next meal!
- Put one cup of white vinegar and one cup of water into a bowl. You could also put lemon in the water instead of vinegar.
- Insert a toothpick or wooden spoon to generate bubbles around the item and avoid explosion if moved.
- Set the microwave for 5 to 10 minutes and then wipe down with a wet cloth.
There are many videos on YouTube on how to clean your microwave, these are just a few to give you ideas!
