Since their debut, BTS have landed covers on leading magazines such as Rolling Stone, Variety, Wall TIME magazine and many more. From funny ones wearing luxury brands such as Dior, Gucci, and Prada to more formal covers, we asked the fans which ones were more iconic. Check them out below!
5) Variety, September 2020
For Variety’s 2020 Grammy’s issue, they nvited none other than BTS to feature on its cover. While the band was wearing tailored suits from brands ranging from Alexander McQueen to Tom Ford, RM stood out as the only member, and the band’s leader, with dyed blue hair. In his interview with Variety, BTS’ Jin talked about how "their unprecedented success 'happened organically'" and that the members remain devoted to their love for creating music.
4) GQ Japan, October 2020
This special issue cover that came with seven individual covers for each of the members is a testament to BTS' success not just at home in South Korea, but also worldwide. Dressed in Ralph Lauren’s Fall 2020 menswear collection, the group continues to showcase its flawless fashion choices in suits, jackets, and coats.
3) TIME magazine, December 2020
"BTS isn't just the biggest k-pop act in the charts. They've become the biggest band in the world - full stop."
Can you believe that this was written in the TIME magazine cover story? BTS won TIME's ‘Entertainer of the Year’ title and naturally became its cover stars for the special issue in 2020. And the cover shone the spotlight on just that: the band, standing in the glare of a spotlight, with no other distractions. It was definitely a proud moment for fans around the world, as everyone celebrated another landmark achievement in the band's career.
2) Wall Street Journal, November 2020
For its special ‘Innovators Issue’, Wall Street Journal featured BTS as its cover stars. Fitted in monochrome suits, the shoot took a different approach from the band's usual chipper energy and focused on serious, warm tones. It was shot by photographer Hong Jang Hyun.
1) Rolling Stones, April 2021
BTS graced Rolling Stone’s ‘The Future of Music’ issue for April 2021, earlier this year. The cover story sang high praises for the superstar seven-member boy band, saying,
“By taking a strong hand in the writing of their music, BTS have always stood apart from traditional K-pop methods, and, for that matter, much of songwriting-camp-dominated U.S. pop, too.”
They were all wearing matching Louis Vuitton outfits and were announced as the global brand ambassadors for Louis Vuitton earlier in May. It feels like they’ve already done it all, but we know that they’re going to keep surprising us and making us proud!
