Are you also a K-pop fan who is always on the lookout for new artists to listen to? If yes, then you have landed on the right page folks because your reporter belongs to the same league. Looking for new K-talent and amping it up in front of my friends has become a part of myself. Let’s share our love for K-pop and allow me to introduce you to some new groups in town that you must not miss out!
StayC
Short for “Star To A Young Culture,” StayC is an all-girls band that made its debut in November 2020 with a song named So Bad. The band consists of 6 girls named Sumin, Sieun, Isa, Seeun, Yoon and J. The band's potential was evident by the fact that the music video gathered 2.6 million views within the first 24 hours. Their most viewed song ‘ASAP’ from their second solo debut album has 33 million views on YouTube as we speak. The band is also one of the first ones formed under High Up Entertainment.
P1Harmony
As interesting as it may sound from the name, the formation of this group is also unique. Singers from different nationalities like Korea, Canada, and Japan have come together to form this band. P1Harmony is composed of 6 members Keeho, Soul, Jiung, intak, Kim-Jong Seob and Theo. They debuted with their first EP named Disharmony: Stand Out under the record label FNC Entertainment in October 2020.
Cravity
Unlike other newbies, this boy band is relatively more famous considering their active time in the industry. The band consists of 9 boys named Allen, Hyeongjun, Jungmo, Minhee, Seongmin, Serim, Taeyong, Woonjin, and Woobin. In less than a year of their debut, the group of nine has already received appreciation for their work. Awards like New Artist of The Year at the 12th Melon Music Awards, and a position on Billboard’s K-Pop Hot hundred has already been achieved by Cravity in 2020. The band functions under Starship Entertainment.
Out of many Korean bands that debut every year, I think these are the best in 2021. After seeing their work, I believe they will be the next big hits just like BTS and Blackpink if they stay consistent.
