For years, fans have wanted to see Jisoo act in a drama, and now they will finally be able to see it! The first teaser for the drama she is starring in, Snowdrop has finally been released! Watch the video, below!
Though Jisoo has starred in series like Arthdal and The Producers, fans are extremely excited to see her play a bigger role!
Snowdrop will take place during the 1987 Democracy Movement in which there was a mass protest for the South Korean government to hold fair elections. This movement was big as after it, South Korea was no longer under authoritarian rule. While it is the backdrop, the male and female protagonists will not "participate in or lead the pro-democracy movement" as stated by JTBC. Last year there was controversy surrounding the plot as South Koreans feared it would distort history if the focus was on the 1987 Democracy Movement. However, JTBC stressed that Snowdrop is "not a drama that disparages the pro-democracy government". While there was fear that the drama would be canceled due to this controversy, fans are greatly relieved that they will still be able to see Jisoo as the lead actress.
Jisoo will reportedly act as a university student who majors in English literature. She will be acting alongside Jung-Hae-in who gained massive popularity for his role in While You Were Sleeping in 2017. Fans are excited about Jisoo acting in this drama and who she will be co-starring with!
The first teaser for the drama was just released and though it is very short, it has made fans even more excited. In it, we can see Jisoo and her co-star Jung-Hae-in dancing together. Despite being a small glimpse into the drama, it looks like they both have great chemistry together! JTBC has not announced a release date yet, but fans around the world can not wait until they can watch the drama.
