A lightstick is a handheld device that lights up in multiple different colors. It is made to be waved around during a concert. Each artist has a unique lightstick!

Blackpink's lightstick (version 1)

Recently, YG Entertainment released a Youtube trailer to announce a new, limited edition version of the Blackpink lightstick. Watch the trailer here:

This new version's design hasn't really been revealed yet. I think that the old design is very creative, so I know the new one will be too!

But does Blackpink need a new lightstick right now? I don't think so. Why, you ask? Let me explain:

1. No concerts during a pandemic

These lightsticks can only be fully used during concerts. The novel coronavirus prevents any gatherings and requires social distancing. It will be a waste of money to buy one right now.

2. The new version is a limited edition

I think selling a limited edition item makes it difficult for people to obtain it, and so it is not fair to the fans to have a limited amount of pieces.

3. Blackpink's fans have special memories with version 1 of the lightstick

The new lightstick will make the old one obsolete. Blinks have special memories with the old version and should not have to let them go.

All in all, I think Blackpink would appreciate all their fans, regardless of whether they have the new lightstick or not. Although I would love to buy it and try out its awesome new features, I think that the old version is good enough for now.
