K-pop idols who make it, make it big. But some of them, had a silver spoon since they were kids. From CEO parents to family business empires, their childhood was 'easy', but had to fight their way to the top of the music industry. Watch the pictures, below! .

  • A 'chaebol' is Korean term for a large industrial conglomerate run and controlled by one person or a family.
  • According to Korea's Fair Trade Commission, there are currently 45 conglomerates that fit the definition of a 'chaebol'.
  • The mother of 2PM’s Nichkhun is the CEO of a pharmaceutical company, while the father of Gfriend’s Umji is the director of a dental clinic chain.

If you're an avid watcher of K-dramas, you have likely heard of 'chaebols' or 'chaebol heirs'. The terms refer to people born into wealthy families. Here is a list of rich K-pop idols who can easily be called 'chaebols'.

Siwon (Super Junior)

Siwon is one of the most handsomes idols in South Korea. He is one of the richest idols as well. The fifth richest to be exact, with an estimated net worth of $50 million. His father is the former CEO of Boryung Pharmaceutical, and his mother is the owner of a successful lingerie brand. He also owns expensive property in Seoul, South Korea.

Jennie (Blackpink)

Jennie has a net worth of $10 million, product of her performances and brand deals with Blackpink. Good for her, because she can continue spending her money like she is used to!  It is rumored that her mother is a director and a major shareholder of the famous entertainment group CJ E&M!

Tzuyu (Twice)

She has a net worth of 'only' $3 million as of 2021. She doesn't need more. Her mother is a successful businesswoman who owns several  cosmetic clinics and hospitals in China and Taiwan. She continues to grow her empire across borders. Tzuyu is truly a princess!

Jeongyeon is the wealthiest member of Twice. Despite having 'only' a net worth of $2 million, she is heir to her family business. Her father is a cook and restaurateur who specializes in intricate Korean cuisine and has several restaurants around the world.

Nickhun attended the Whanganui Collegiate School, one of New Zealand's most prestigious schools. His dad is CEO of one of Thailand's most lucrative pharmaceutical companies.

Sooyoung has an incredible net worth of  $8 million as of 2021. Her grandfather is the CEO of a South Korean architecture firm that helped to build the Seoul Arts Center. 

Chenle (NCT)
