6 authentic reasons to love BTS!

Have you ever wondered why over 36 million people around the globe love BTS? Well, today is your lucky day! We asked our BTS army base and these are the most voted reasons to love BTS. Scroll down to check them out!

  • BTS, also known as Bangtan Sonyeondan, debuted on June 13 2013, in South Korea under Big Hit Entertainment.
  • The seven members of the band are RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook.
  • With a record-breaking following of 36 million on Twitter, the band has a net worth of $100 million as of 2021.

1) Authenticity

Authenticity is difficult to come across, but with BTS you know you won't be disappointed. They keep it real and never shy away from showing all of their sides, from the funny interactions among the members to their most vulnerable moments. Despite the international success the group has received, at the core, they are the same seven boys who get happy over small things like receiving gift coupons in their variety show RUN! BTS.

2) Involvement in music

BTS members have always involved themselves in their music behind the scenes; from creating the choreographies to writing their lyrics, they do it all. The members of the group, especially RM, Suga, and J-Hope, hold writing credits for many BTS songs.  After the release of their albums, the members do live streams to give fans more insight into the production process of their music. Even before their debut, the members used to post logs talking about their music to give fans a feel of what the future holds.

3) Connection with fans

I think that we all are aware of the strong bond the band and their fan base have. I have yet to come across artists who love their fans this much! BTS never fails to express their thankfulness and gratitude towards their fans. Whether through a message on Twitter, a song, or talking about them in interviews or award shows - they always show their appreciation.

4) Social awareness

Many artists who can raise their voices to bring up social issues never dare to do it in fear of backlash, but BTS is different. The band chooses to tackle. During the 'Love Yourself: Her' album's press conference, Suga said,

'It isn't a BTS album if there isn't a track criticizing society.'

If you ever pay attention to their lyrics, you will notice how socially aware the group is. Their song 'N.O.' criticizes the robotic education system. 'Baepsae' comments on the social gap between the poor and the rich, and 'Spine Breaker' exposes the materialism of the young people today. These songs are just a few examples of their wide range of socially aware songs. The band also launched a global campaign in partnership with UNICEF to help end violence, neglection and to promote self-esteem and well-being.

5) Diversity in their music

BTS' Korean discography

The reason why BTS' music never feels the same is because they experiment with a wide variety of genres. As a result, they have a diverse discography. The band has dived into various aspects of art, including psychology, literature, mythology, and contemporary art. BTS is a very diverse group when it comes to concepts. Anthony Fantano, an celebrity American music critic,  after reviewing their album 'Love Yourself: Tear' described them in the following words,

'It's very hard to stylistically pigeonhole the group because once you go into a BTS album, you can expect not only elements of hip-hop and jazz but pop of many different shades.'

6) Individuality of the members

One thing that makes BTS stand out from the crowd is the members' unique, colorful personalities. All of them possess distinct traits making them their own person. It's common to see some members overshadow each other in other groups, but that's not the case with BTS. Each member gets a chance to shine. Even when they're singing or rapping, you can quickly tell which member is who. The members' solo works in past albums established their unique styles.
