The 52-year-old American television host is the producer of his own show, 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' He hosted the Emmy Awards in 2012 and 2016, and once again will do it on Sunday, 20th September. Are you looking forward to him stealing the spotlight with his amazing sense of humor? Read below to find out more!
The awards show will look very different this year, because of the COVID-19 pandemic. There'll be no gushy pre-show with red carpet fashions. Jimmy will be largely alone in Los Angeles' Staples Center, surrounded by just a small crew but no nominees and no audience.
Although coronavirus has presented production challenges, the "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" host said "One benefit of having a virtual ceremony is that no big rehearsal is necessary". Another perk is that the nominees, some of whom Kimmel said will be in "designer pajamas," will be surrounded by their loved ones during the broadcast.
Will it be difficult for the TV show host to make jokes without any audience? No way! He will be happy to be in his pajamas for the show. Jokes apart, the decision has been taken in order to take heavy precautions against the pandemic. Award presenters will be wearing hazmat suits when handing out the Emmys.
