This laser study confirms which face mask is more effective

A lot of stories are coming out to light about governments buying face masks with problems from China, imports being returned and a lot of people fabricating homemade protection. How effective are the masks? This following video from Florida Atlantic University shows exactly what you should know about this topic.

  • The study was published in the prestigious Canadian paper Physics of Fluids.
  • Coronavirus is transmitted through respiratory drops that every person expels by talking, coughing and sneezing.

  • Respecting a proper social distance will ensure that the fluids fell to the floor and don't reach the human body.

The body shape you see in the video is not actually a person coughing. Researchers simulate the sneeze and cough with a fluid mix and firing them with pressure at the exact speed people do it. Sneezes can travel up to 100mph (ca. 161 km/h) while a cough almost 50mph (ca. 80 km/h)!

Using face mask, no matter what type, makes a big difference!

You can see an outstanding difference even with hand-made handkerchiefs or without. Basically, what you need to know is: the better the mask, the safer you will be. Try to invest in proper masks and not using the bandana you once bought for going on that hiking trip and it was cold. Oh, wait, but first, try to wear them at all times while being in the public. The city of Miami started fining people who doesn't use mask with $50
