“My body were trending on Twitter… What is that?!” commented a very angry pop singer Billie Eilish when photos of showing her in bikini went viral on social media. Find out what else she had to say about the leaked images below
“Your opinion is not my responsibility!”. A powerful message for the world and her fans. When it comes to Billie Eilish’s opinion, she is not joking around.
The 5 time Grammy award-winning solo artist has used her platform to discuss how toxic body-shaming can be. She explained in a Calvin Klein ad that the reason she wears baggy clothes is to avoid body-shaming. "I never want the world to know everything about me," she said. "I mean, that’s why I wear big, baggy clothes: Nobody can have an opinion because they haven’t seen what’s underneath, you know?"
She opened up about struggling with body image issues in an interview with Vogue "I just hated my body. I would have done anything to be in a different one," she explained. "I really wanted to be a model, and I was chubby and short."
Billie has said in an interview with BBC Breakfast that the negative comments about her choice of attire affected her so much that on her world tour in March, she unveiled a powerful short film about body-shaming that left the world shaken.
Now that the tour has been postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Billie shared the short film, titled Not My Responsibility, on YouTube and social media where Eilish explains “Though you've never seen my body, you still judge it”.
