The star's makeup line Rare Beauty, will finally launch on September 3 in Sephora stores. After months of its first announcement the brand will be available! Not everyone is thrilled, Gomez has received plenty of criticism for being yet one more celebrity with a beauty line. Check out the video below.
The singer made the worldwide announcement of her brand Rare Beauty in February through Instagram Live. She said she wanted to launch a line that took the pressure off men and women alike of having to "look like someone they are not".
Rare Beauty is meant to suit everyone. "We are not meant to look like everybody else; we’re meant to look like ourselves.”
Selena follows fellow artists Rihanna and Jennifer Lopez who also have their own beauty brands. But after Gomez made her big announcement many criticized her for being 'just another celebrity launching yet another beauty brand'.
People also noticed that Gomez's Rare Beauty Instagram page was the singer's previous Revival tour Instagram. They accused her of wanting to apprear like her line was more successful.
Her brand was supposed be out earlier this year, but the coronavirus pandemic pushed it back. The singer has already been showing off some of her products, like the lipstick line, eyeshadow colors and an liquid eyeliner. "The line is going to be at every Sephora store, and we will go globally next year," said Gomez.
