Rihanna Teams Up with Twitter to help Domestic Violence Victims

The famous award winning singer, Rhianna has joined force with Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey to fight against domestic violence and aid those affected by it. The singer paired up with Dorsey and donated $4.2 million.

  • Rihanna announced that Dorsey and herself will be donating a generous $4.2 million through her Clara Lionel Foundation to help abuse victims. Since the stay-at-home orders begun at least 90 people have been rejected or turned away from domestic violence shelters.
  • In addition, Dorsey, donated 28% of his wealth to the coronavirus relief efforts earlier this week.
  • The money is meant to cover housing situations, meals and counseling to the victims.

Unfortunately, since the Covid-19 global pandemic has started, families have been forced to stay indoors most of the time. Rihanna is a strong advocate against domestic violence ever since that infamous night where R&B singer, Chris Brown, violently assaulted her on Feb 8th, 2009. She has been a pillar of hope to many women who are suffering from violence.
