The American actress and model is best known for her role in the movie franchise Fifty Shades of Grey. Check out how she got incredibly toned for the two sequels that followed the first movie in 2015.
Training Johnson was quite a challenge since the actress had to look like a college student and couldn't seem too muscular. Since the actress didn't really need to lose weight for the role the personal trainer focused on toning her body.
Personal trainer Ramona Braganza came up with a workout philosophy which she calls The Braganza Method: 3-2-1. "We would do one or two or three minutes of cardio, and then we would go right to a circuit of three exercises in a row. Then we would go back to cardio, back to circuit, back to cardio and finish with core."
Barganza focused on using fewer weights and doing more repetitions. Johnson did things like body-planks and worked on her abs with Pilates-based movements.
Once filming started she incorporated fun things such as a punching bag and a Pilates chair. Dakota also had a ballet teacher.
"When I’m on set with an actor who doesn’t have more than half an hour we have to keep the intensity up to at least 75 percent" said the trainer.
Workout was rough but both Johnson and co-star Jamie Dornan thanks Ramona in the end!
