Hit series The Umbrella Academy released its second season

The series created for Netflix by tells the story of the dysfunctional Hargreeves children. The show is based on Gerard Way and Gabriel Ba’s comic book of the same name. Check out the video below to fully understand the hit series is about.

  • Season 2 was released on July 31st.
  • Cast members include: Ellen Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, Cameron Britton, and Mary J. Blige.
  • Netflix reported that 45 million households had watched season one during its first month of release in April 2019.

Season two picks up right where season one ended. Adopted sibling Seven (Vanya) who everyone thought didn't have powers blasts a chunk off the Moon causing the destruction of Earth. Then they are all teleported to another time. Here's where season two begins. The family land in 1960s Dallas, Texas. This season will be completely different in both theme and in aesthetics.

On the show's Twitter account they had already announced new characters for season 2. A housewife called Sissy, a 'chameleon' character called Lila and a leader figure called Raymond. T. 

While the show deviates a bit from the comic book the goal is to remains as faithful as possible to the original. Executive producer Steve Blackman had said during a 2019 interview: “Not everything translates from the graphic novel page to the screen, but there’s a legion of fans and I want to bring in a whole new legion of fans who’ve never read the graphic novel, so the goal is not to just go off in our own direction.”
