Emotional message from Marlon Wayans to his late mother

Marlon is the youngest of Wayans brother's. Elvira Wayans, who died earlier this month, was mother to 10 children, many of whom became well known in the entertainment industry. Watch the video below for a laugh listening to the brothers talk about their mom during the Oprah Winfrey Show.

  • Marlon shared the same birthday as his mother.
  • The youngest Wayans had his own sitcom on NBC called Marlon, which was cancelled in 2018 after its second season.

During the 2004 interview with Oprah, Marlon said although his mother had 10 children, "we all had our time and space to be the baby”. “She made us all feel loved.”

Marlon posted on Instagram Thursday, July 23 on the day of their birthday. "Today I celebrate for the both of (us) In the midst of this hurt". Elvira died at 81, she would have turned 82 on Thursday.

The family of entertainers includes writers, producers and performers. Damon Wayans, Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans and Keenen Ivory Wayans are some of the most known family members. The brothers have worked on several projects together, I’m Gonna Git You Sucka, Hollywood Shuffle, Mo’ Money, the Scary Movie franchise, and the sketch comedy series In Living Color to name a few.
