Kelly rose to fame in the 90s with girl band Destiny's Child. After the band broke up in 2006, Rowland went on to pursue her career as a solo artist. When The Voice semi finalist Chris Sebastian revealed he had always felt overshadowed by his older brother Guy Sebastian who won the first Australian Idol in 2003 and is now a judge on The Voice, Rowland offered some advice on what it felt having spent a whole decade in the shadow of the multitalented Beyoncé.
The reality TV judge said she would "torture" herself. "I know this feeling. Can you imagine what it's like being in a group with Beyoncé?" While the two were friends she says being constantly compared to Beyoncé made her second guess herself all the time. "I would be lying if I said no, it's never bothered me". The group won two Grammys before the break up.
