The couple recently purchased a full floor penthouse in the most outstanding building in Downtown Miami, One Thousand Museum, designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, who died on 2016. Check out why the Beckham's chose this building.
The building was specifically designed to fit Miami's weather. Hadid thought of all the details in the architecture. The columns at the base fan out as the tower rises and meets at the corners, forming a rigid tube that is highly resistant to demanding wind loads. The building's curves make it hurricane resistant.
The exoskeleton shaped building has curvatures that create a slightly different floor plan throughout the 62 story building. It's won Awards for Excellence in two categories from the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH): ‘Best Tall Building 200-299 meters’ and the ‘Structural Engineering Award’.
The couple will be spending a lot more time in Miami since the launch of Inter Miami CF (Club Internacional de Fútbol Miami) of which David Beckham is president. The penthouse was selling for $20 million. It has more than 10,335 square feet of living space, five bedrooms and six and half bathrooms. The amenities include a private rooftop helipad, a sky lounge that can be used for private events, an aquatic center with an indoor pool, a wellness center and a spa. What more can the couple ask for!
