Dancing With the Stars 2020 reveals a premiere date

Season 29 of the ABC reality dance competition announced that the show will premiere September 14th. This season will also have a new host, Tyra Banks. Check out the video to find out who will be on the show.

  • The show premiered in 2005 and has been a hit ever since.
  • In 2018 the network launched the junior version but it was cancelled after only one season.
  • This year model and TV personality Tyra Banks joins as host replacing Tom Bergeron, who had been on the show since its starts. 

The show has revealed the professional dancers that will be competing and there are a few fan-favorites who will return. Sharna Burgess, Peta Murgatroyd, Val Chmerkovskiy and Cheryl Burke to name a few.

Good Morning America tweeted about it on Tuesday.

Still to be revealed are the celebrities who will be competing and the pro dancer pairings, which will be revealed in the two-hour premiere in September. 

New host Tyra Banks will not only be hosting but as ABC announced Banks would become an executive producer on the series.

"I’ve been a fan of 'DWTS' since its beginning ... The fun mixed with raw emotion, seeing celebrities push past their comfort zones, the sizzling dance performances ... it’s always transported me to my days of turning it up 10 notches on the catwalk," said Banks.
