The Hollywood actor is suing different cannabis companies for falsely using his name as endorsement. Watch the video below for more information.
Eastwood accuses the companies of tagging his name to their websites and spreading fake articles about how the actor is leaving the film industry for the cannabis business. Close to 20 are the firms that are being sued by Eastwood for infringement and defamation.
The companies use CBD which is an extract from the marijuana plant that does not have the psychoactive properties. These companies sell products that contain the CBD extract in creams, lotions, oils and even food.
The actor's lawyers say Eastwood has never had nor has any association with CBD. One of the companies being sued, Sera Labs, said they were unaware that the company was being linked to the actor. They said they "shut down the ads immediately after learning that they used Mr Eastwood's name and likeness".
