Britney's younger sister defended her sister against rumors concerning the pop icon's mental health. Check out the pictures to see what Jamie Lynn Spears had to say about the #FreeBritney movement.
Jamie Lynn posted screenshots of other celebrities in support of mental health. After such posts regarding celebrities like singers Halsey and Maren Morris people started questioning why the young Spears didn't talk about her own sister. Jamie Lynn then responded on social media.
“I pray this doesn’t bring shame to anyone dealing with mental illness, you are not alone, and you are loved. Sending all my love and prayers to all of you,”
she wrote.
Some fans have asked the family to please clarify the situation with Britney to which Jamie Lynn wrote:
“I would never speak out just to clarify things to the public, when the person it pertains to does not want that to happen. I’d rather take all the hate, then speak about someone else's personal matter, that they want to be kept private."
Most of the original posts have been deleted. This is not the first time Jamie Lynn defends her sister publicly. In 2019 Spears also defended her sister on Instagram when a video was posted of paparazzi harassing Britney.
Today, on June 29th 2021 she revealed that she has "nothing to gain" from her sister's conservatorship.
