  • The American actor and producer started off with many supporting roles, but it was his 1996 role in A Time to Kill that earned him widespread recognition.
  • In the 2000s McConaughey was known as the Casanova of romantic comedies.
  • The Texas born actor is married to Brazilian-American model and designer Camilla Alves. Their net worth is over $100 million.

“This is not a traditional memoir, or an advice book, but rather a playbook based on adventures in my life,” said the actor about his book 'Greenlights' which is set to be released on October 20th.

The memoir includes some of the actors' adventures. The ones that were most significant to him or enlightening, "sometimes because they were meant to be but mostly because they didn’t try to be.”

The actor “found not only stories, questions, truths, and affirmations, but also a reliable theme,” said the publisher.

The actor has kept a diary for 35 years, and he has finally put it to use! Publishing group Crown stated: "From growing up as an adventurous kid in a tough-love Texas home of rule breakers, to revelatory journeys to Australia, Peru, and Mali, to his early days in Hollywood and meteoric rise to fame, McConaughey shares how his life experiences have instilled in him the importance of competent values, the power of new experiences, and, as he puts it, ‘either changing your reality or changing how you see it.’”
