The Oscar and Emmy-winning actor was recently interviewed by AARP Magazine and said that whether a film is successful or not what's important is maintaining creative integrity.
Costner is going on the third season of television series 'Yellowstone' where he plays the role of John Dutton, the patriarch of a ranching family fighting corruption.
The actor revealed during the interview that he was tested many times and that there have been "very critical moments where I had to listen to myself and act and not be afraid of the outcome," As of right now Costner says "I'm at that spot in my life, artistically. I should be doing what pleases me".
He's working on a multi film project which consists of 4 movies. "It's epic in that it's four movies, all the same story, and it takes you to a place that you think you know, but you don't". Costner is also starring in upcoming film Let Him Go, opposite Diane Lane, which is set to be released November 6th. Costner plays George Blackledge, a retired Montana sheriff who's lost his son and together with his wife, interpreted by Lane, set out to find their only grandson. Kevin Costner's country-rock band is called Modern West, and they have recently released an album inspired on the show Yellowstone. The album is titled Tales from Yellowstone.
"Being with an audience and feeling like you have something to share makes me comfortable" he said about playing music.
