We are delighted with the news that Whoopi Goldberg could be coming back in "Sister Act 3"! The 64-year-old actress revealed that fans are going crazy at the prospect of a sequel to the smash hit musical comedy. Scroll down as we reveal how the star is getting back into the singing nun habit!
Goldberg revealed on "The Late Late Show" with James Corden, that she would be interested in playing the role of the famous singer nun in "Sister Act' once again. The 64-year-old actress played Sister Mary Clarence in "Sister Act" blockbuster movie in 1992, as well as its 1993 sequel "Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit."
"For a long time, they kept saying no one wanted to see it," Goldberg said. "And then quite recently, it turns out, that may not be true. People may want to see it." It will be great to see the hilarious gang together again. A real feel-good movie, what's better than the adventures of singing nuns!
In the original movie, British star Maggie Smith exceled as Mother Superior, while Harvey Keitel played the villainous gangster Vince LaRocca. The movie was also adapted into a hit stage musical.
Goldberg is due to reprise her Deloris witness protection nun role in a West End remake of the musical in 2021.
