In the 80s if you were a teen than this karate movie for sure became one of your favorite stories. For many of us karate was something about kicking, jumping and wearing unflattering clothes. But this movie left us much more and uncovered the wisdom behind this thousand-year-old martial art. Ralph inspired us with this story, but where did he go?
"It has been a while but for this American actor there has been a bit of everything during these last decades. This actor, dancer has appeared in many films and TV shows. His most memorable appearances in films was in the Karate Kid trilogy in 1984.
It was thanks to his performance in Francis Ford Coppola’s 1983 film The Outsiders he became a household name. Although nothing ever resonated as his big break film.
It would seem poetic to see him back in the limelight in his familiar role as Daniel LaRusso in the spin off TV show Cobra Kai. Perhaps there are certain roles meant to be played by that one actor and I believe Ralph was meant to relive his legacy to this generation as well. In the words of his sensei…" You trust the quality of what you know, not quantity.”
