The 39-year-old actor Jake Gyllenhaal is a familiar collaborator with director Denis Villeneuve. They worked together in movie-hit blockbusters “Enemy” and “Prisoners.”
The powerhouse pair revealed they are teaming up again for this HBO limited series based on the #1 best-selling novel “The Son.”
Gyllenhaal was so excited after reading the book that he decided to acquire the rights through his company Nine Stories along with his partner Riva Marker. “Westworld” creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy will also join as executive producers of the series.
“The Son” tells the story of Sonny Lofthus, an escaped convict, who has trouble remembering his past. He escapes from the law in his search for an unknown truth.
