Taylor Swift revealed that her 2012 album Red was about "pure, absolute, to the core, heartbreak."
Many songs like "Are Never Ever Getting Back Together," "All Too Well," and "The Last Time" are about Taylor ex-boyfriend Jake Gyllenhaal who she dated from October 2010 to March 2011.
The singer-songwriter said that the lyrics on the famous hit “The Moment I Knew” were about her 21st birthday party, which was the worst experience of her life.
Her love interest didn’t show up, and that’s when she knew it was over. She turned 21 in December 2010, which lines up with the end of her relationship with the “Zodiac” actor.
Swift was only 22 years old when she released the album. Her romance affected her deeply and it was very hard to say goodbye to Jake. The singer decided to put her emotions in to her music.
She confessed, “When you are missing someone, time seems to move slower and when I'm falling in love with someone, time seems to be moving faster. So I think, because time seems to move so slow when I'm sad, that's why I spend so much time writing songs about it. It seems like I have more hours in the day.”
