Keep reading because you'll never guess how the two celebrities met! Hint: it was not on a TV show or at the Oscars.

  • Meghan Markle, 39 years old, was born on August 4, 1981. She was raised in Los Angeles, California. She is known as the Duchess of Sussex, a humanitarian philanthropist, and a former actress.
  • The American performer turned royal met Prince Harry in Toronto, Canada while he was there promoting the Invictus Games, in which injured, or sick armed services people and veterans take part in several sports including wheelchair basketball, indoor rowing, and sitting volleyball.
  • Prince Harry and his wife Meghan have a net worth of $30 million, from an inheritance from Harry's late mother Princess Diana, and an annual allowance from her father Prince Charles.
Meghan Markle & Ellen DeGeneres met at a pet shelter!

Yes, we know that Meghan and her husband Prince Harry settled down in Montecito, where Ellen is a nearby neighbor, but she didn't meet the celebrity at the local grocery store. They also never ran into each other at a Hollywood event.

The two women had first set eyes on each other at a pet adoption agency. It totally makes sense because the Duchess is a big animal lover!

Meghan was living in LA in 2016 after she married her ex-husband Trevor Engelson. The couple decided to adopt their first dog. However, it was a difficult decision because there were two adorable puppies: a golden and a black one.

Then Ellen DeGeneres enters the shop and asked her if the golden labrador was her dog. The "Suits" star told her she couldn't decide. "You have to take that dog - the talk show host said - rescue the dog."

The Duchess confessed that the comedian even asked her if she had a name for the dog, she was thinking of Bogart. Ellen insisted that she had to take the dog.

Meghan couldn't refuse, it felt like an Oprah moment and she took the puppy home because the talk show host told her to! As you can see in the video, Ellen takes credit for helping the Duches to find the true love of her life!
