Ellen DeGeneres and other famous A-listers celebrate "National Coming Out Day" with their LGBTQ fans on social media. It’s great that the coming out of the closet event was created in 1988 and is celebrated every year. Scroll down to find out celebs that celebrate the day being out and proud!

Emmy-winning “Ellen DeGeneres Show,” TV ratings numbers are down 30% from last season after toxic work environment allegations, despite this the comedian has renewed her contract until 2022, taking responsibility and promising a new chapter.

To show her support the talk show host's wife Portia de Rossi, 47, posted a sweet intimate pic of the couple on Instagram, writing: "Happy National Coming Out Day! Here’s to celebrating coming out while we’re all staying in."

Katy Perry has always been an LGBTQ supporter, the 13-time Grammy nominee gained popularity with her number one breakout hit "I Kissed a Girl".

Paris Hilton was one of several celebrities to pay tribute to the LGBTQ community. The heiress posed in front of a rainbow heart, writing on Instagram: "There's nothing more powerful than coming out and being who you are. #NationalComingOutDay #LoveIsLove".
