On September 13, Refaeli got into the Tel Aviv courthouse with her father, Raffi, her mother, Zipi, and her lawyers. The judge convicted the model and her mother as her agent, for prosecution on allegations of tax evasion and false tax reporting.
In Israel, the tax law determines the residency primarily upon whether if the person spent most of the year in the country. Leonardo DiCaprio's ex-girlfriend claimed that she hadn't spent most of the year in there, so she was needless to declare her income. The judge rejected her claim, and now she also has to pay any amount that the tax authorities determine are due, in addition to a $1.4 million fine.
