A new episode of police brutality happened yesterday in the area of Islington, London (England). Two male, white, police officers arrest a black man matching the description of a wanted suspect. The arrest escalated as an angry crowd started to gather around the event. Watch the following video for more information.
The tension escalated between the police officers and the crowd that was doing the arrest.
One of the officers tells a man "shut up" when he complained about excessive use of force. Police authorities in the entire world are on a difficult spot after what happened to George Floyd, who died after one officer choked him to death with his knee. Following that event, massive protests all over the world took place asking for less racism and to defund the police.
Another woman who was at the scene said "it's okay to arrest the man, but not to injure or kill him in the process".
The Metropolitan Police issued an update on the situation saying "the man was detained by officers and arrested at the scene on suspicion of affray and possession of an offensive weapon. He remains in custody at a central London police station."
They also said that the public has the right to accuse officers of extreme use of force when necessary.
