Who’s The Murderer is a Chinese variety show which is based on crime scenes. Fans of the show on the social media website called Sina Weibo were quick to point out how problematic the edit was. They stated that it was disrespectful as Selena suffers from Lupus disease. On February 25th 2021, the TV show apologized publicly for its negligence and removed the content from the show’s future broadcasts.

Selena Gomez has not commented on this issue yet however, I am sure she must be upset at this. She is a strong supporter of treating everyone with kindness and the Chinese TV’s edits must have hurt her.

Selena has some of the most amazing fans in the world and her Chinese fan club took immediate action on her behalf. Their efforts paid off and the TV show apologized. However, we need to continue playing our part in building a society where people don’t make jokes on sensitive matters. How do you feel about the TV show’s edits?
