Brazil has become the second country after the United States with the highest number of coronavirus infections. After President Jair Bolsonaro said he was going to disregard isolation measures drug dealers have taken matters into their own hands. Watch this shocking video!
Drug gangs are dealing a lot more than drugs, they're helping their community by handing out medication and reinforcing social distancing.
"We've seen a lot of death. We know it's not a small thing" said a gang member in one of Rio's poorest communities who, like others asked to remain anonymous. "We fear the virus, not Bolsonaro" he added.
The gang granted CNN access because they wanted to show how they are dealing with COVID-19. They are handing out alcohol gel, medication and even cash to the members of the community who need it the most.
