The 28-year-old singer sat down to chat with Roman Kemp from Capital Breakfast in the UK and revealed what the craziest collaboration she has planned for this year is. Scroll down to discover it.
Following the release of her seventh studio album Plastic Hearts, Miley Cyrus revealed that she was already making new record material.
At first, we did not know what it was about, although we sensed that it could be a compilation of covers.
What we didn't know is that these would all be from Metallica and that in fact, Miley had gone ahead with her project together with her friend and producer Andrew Watt who is also an excellent guitarist.
On January 6th, 2021 Cyrus announced, with a little apprehension, that she is working on an insane collaboration with Andrew Watt for the Metallica cover album with Elton John on piano, Yo-Yo Ma on cello, and Chad Smith of The Red Hot Chili Peppers will also be there.
Not even Roman Kemp gave credit to such collaboration, what a mix!
The 28-year-old singer herself acknowledged that she likes it when the ingredients don't really go together. Well, with these ingredients the recipe cannot fail girl!
What we conclude is that Miley Cyrus is full of surprises and has many more for us than we can imagine for 2021.
We can't wait to find out what that Metallica cover album will be like and what tracks it will include.
Before taking your hands to your head, remember that Smiley already covered “Nothing Else Matters” in 2019 on the Glastonbury stage,
also in 2019, she performed Temple of The Dog's “Say Hello 2 Heaven” at Chris Cornell Tribute Show and Lars Ulrich was, and I quote “stunned” by it.
Here is a memory refresher.
