As you might know, the entertainment industry is a fierce one. There are a few roles for thousands of aspiring actors and actresses that fight for the American Dream of becoming the next Marilyn Monroe or Brad Pitt. In times when the society is fractured, we thought it was a good idea to show you a couple examples when the people united, helped each other and how that has always a better ending than fighting!
Johnny Depp and Nicolas Cage
Famous for his roles on 'Pirates of the Caribbean as Jack Sparrow', 'Edward Scissorhands' and 'Alice in Wonderland', wouldn't have probably made it if it weren't for the insistence of his friend and actor, Nicolas Cage.
At a time when Johnny wanted to pursue his career as a rock musician, Cage convinced him to go do castings and auditions for minor roles in series and movies, which paid well! He put him in touch with his agent, who agreed and sent him to audition. The result? He was selected. The rest is history.
Vin Diesel and Steven Spielberg
What does the action muscled star has to do with the intellectual director? After wanting to take a step away from acting, Vin decided to go full time on directing. He got a job with the TV series 'The Ropes' from 2012 that didn't get the best reviews. Everything changed when Steven bet on him for a role in 'Saving Private Ryan'. Spielberg later told the press that he knew he was a great actor, but he liked his directing skills. After that comment, nobody doubted anymore about his talent!
Tom Hanks and Charlize Theron
Everybody loves Tom. For his unforgettable movies like 'Cast Away' and 'Forrest Gump', but also for his incredible heart. This year, when he got infected with Covid-19 the world stopped. And the heart of the South African actress Charlize Theron. She has been great friends with the actor since the time he 'saved' her during a casting for the movie 'That Thing You Do!' from 1996. The former model was fresh in Hollywood and was sweating and nervous. Tom, who was also directing the movie, realized it and asked her a little break. Not because he needed it, but because he wanted to help her. It worked, because the movie was a success and impulse for her life and confidence!
