Donald Trump

Donald Trump's misleading Facebook ad

The image used in the ad is of 2014 Ukrainian pro-democracy protest. Take a look at the video from 2014 below.

  • Facebook social media said they won't take any action against the post.
  • The photo was picked up by a former Hillary Clinton staff member.
  • The ad reads: "Public safety vs chaos and violence".

While the ad reads "Evangelicals For Trump are ready to help re-elect President Donald J Trump" the insignia in the photo is a Coptic cross seen in countries that practice Orthodox Christianity. The photo from Ukraine's 2014 protests was picked up by a former Hillary Clinton staff member, Jesse Lehrich, who posted on Twitter.

On one side the ad shows Trump in a calm setting and on the other side is an official surrounded by protestor. Facebook believes the ad has reached people mostly from Texas and Florida who are over 55 years old. Trump's campaign team has yet to comment.
