Controversy behind the luxury honeymoon of Spain’s kings

Felipe and Letizia, now King and Queen of Spain enjoyed back in 2004 a secret getaway around the world. The details came to light only now and the people are outraged. Check this post to see more.

  • British newspaper The Telegraph shared everything the mysterious travel. Who paid everything? And how much did it cost?
  • The royal couple went to  California, Mexico, Pacific Islands (Fiji and Samoa) and Middle East (Jordan). In a couple of days they spent the staggering amount of half a million dollars.
  • They used secret pseudonyms in the reservations.

They even spent 30.000 dollars for five days in an exclusive resort called Wakaya Resort & Spa, famous for hosting celebrities like Nicole Kidman, Russell Crowe and Bill Gates. A friend of Felipe’s dad, former King Juan Carlos paid part of the trip, sources confirm.

The Spanish Royal House press didn't make any statements about the topic. 

 

This new scandal splashes the royals years after Juan Carlos, the former king had several episodes concerning corruption with his son-in-law, Iñaki Urdangarin, illegal hunting and rumors of infidelity.
