Blackpink is celebrating their 5th anniversary, surprising their fans, the Blinks, with many gifts. Today, on August 2, they joined Weverse, the famous Korean mobile app, and everyone is hyped about what they will be doing next!

  • Weverse was created in 2019 by Hybe Corporation, also known as Big Hit Entertainment.
  • Many fans use it as a way to be closer to their idols.
  • Blackpink's members  Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa join other K-Pop idols who are already on the platform such as 'Woo!ah!', FtIsland, Everglow, Mad Monster, BTS, Seventeen and TXT.

Weverse also shared the wonderful news with the following caption!:

A wealth of content is waiting for you in #BLACKPINKWeverse ! Stay tuned and interact with BLACKPINK a step closer on Weverse!

Immediately, fans started sharing this news on Twitter, using the hashtag #BlackpinkWeverse and of course, gained traction and Blackpink started trending in the United States and the world. By sharing the news and using the hashtags, some lucky fans will be receiving gifts from the platform and we assume that those could be free yearly memberships, special videos from the K-Pop idols and even a personalized video from one of the 'Lovesick' singers.

Blackpink are doing a special project called '4+1' to celebrate their anniversary during August, that includes the dropping of The Album Photobook, and their new movie 'Blackpink The Movie'. YG Entertainment and Big Hit are joining forces to expand the global reach of K-Pop idols following the recent success of BTS and these other K-Pop groups.  Watch our reaction video, below.
